About Us

The Washington County Revenue Office, located in Chatom, Alabama, determines the value of all taxable property in Washington County, AL. Taxable property includes land and commercial properties, often referred to as real property or real estate, and fixed assets owned by businesses, often referred to as personal property. Property assessments performed by the Assessor are used to determine the Washington County property taxes owed by individual taxpayers. Taxes are due every October 1 and are delinquent after December 31st. Payments may be made as follows:

  1. You may come to the office and make a payment in person by cash, check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. However, we do not accept American Express.
  2. You may pay by mail with check or money order to: (please put all account numbers associated with payments) 
  3. Pay property tax online. Pay anytime day or night using either a credit card or debit card. A 2.5% convenience applies to all card transactions, in office or online

Manufactured Home payments are in office only.
